I love bright and bold colors and thick, fun brush strokes. I love the details in this one, from a photo I took at the National Western Stock show in Denver a few years back. I am still paintings from the piles of photos I took there! Gotta love a good show!
I grew up basically feral on the back of a spirited, spotted horse. I rode all over the plains of Colorado and found inspiration in scuffed knees and dirty hands as I studied every animal I could find, catch and maybe cuddle. This love of animals drove me into the field of being a Veterinary Technician, a groomer, a kennel tech, a ranch hand, and eventually a professional dog trainer. Always there were my paintings, in the background, made in tiny stolen moments of a very busy life. I returned to college to pursue Graphic Design and earned a degree with honors only to learn I am a Fine Artist with no love of Graphic Art.
